  • Hearing the voice of God (Encouragement, Comfort, Faith Builder, Correction, Direction & Guidance, Confirmation, etc.)
  • Development of a spiritual discipline

Four Reading Tracks

This monthly schedule is designed to read from both from the Old Testament and the New Testament. Four reading tracks are provided. All four can be read or whatever track you choose. Check box after completing reading.

  • Old Testament
  • New Testament
  • Psalms
  • Proverbs

Guidelines/Suggestions

  • Make a 15-20 minute daily commitment (preferably in morning).
  • First pray Psalm 119:18 and Luke 24:45 before reading (printed out on the top of the BRS).
  • If reading both the OT and the NT break up reading times.
    1) Read Old and New Testament in early morning
    2) Take a “Psalms Break” during lunch
    3) Read Proverbs in evening
  • What if I fall behind?
    1) Don’t fall into condemnation – legalism
    2) Catch up on weekend
    3) Resume reading current day’s readings. (You can pick up the following year what was missed this year.)
  • Record nuggets of truth, insights and inspirational thoughts in a Devotional Thoughts Journal (DTJ)
